EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University fought off six match points before succumbing 22-20 in the fifth game in a non-conference men's volleyball match-up with Ramapo College on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Chris Holden had a career-high 26 kills for the Warriors, who won the second and third games 31-29 after dropping the opening game by the same score.

Ramapo (27-5) took the fourth game 30-17 and led 6-4 early in the deciding game before ESU rallied to tie the score at 11-11. The two teams alternated the next 18 points, with Ramapo pulling ahead and the Warriors leveling the score every time, before the Roadrunners finally won two straight points to put the match away.

ESU put four players in double figures in kills, led by Holden, and senior Mike Oswald, junior Kyle Duffy and freshman Don Hanna had 11 kills each. Freshman setter Josh Hobson set his career-high with 48 assists.

Junior R.J. Roth had 17 kills to lead the defense and freshman Brian Geslak contributed nine kills and six blocks.

The Warriors will wrap up their home schedule next week with EIVA Tait Division matches against St. Francis and Juniata on Friday and Saturday, both beginning at 7 p.m.
