FAIRFAX, Va. - East Stroudsburg University pushed No. 14 George Mason deep into the first game before the Patriots came away with a 31-29 win, and went on to a 3-0 victory over the Warriors on Saturday in an EIVA Tait Division match-up.

Sophomore Chris Holden led ESU with 15 kills and junior Jesse Landis had seven kills. Freshman setter Josh Hobson played the majority of the match and had 22 assists.

Both teams hit over .400 in the opening game, with ESU holding a .424-.419 edge, but George Mason pulled it out and won the final two games 30-14 and 30-22.

Hudson Bates (15 kills) and Kyle Gramit (10 kills) were the top hitters for the Patriots, who hit .500 for the match.

ESU is away from action for the next two weeks and will return to the floor on March 26 with a 7 p.m. match at NYU.
