LANDISVILLE - Hudson Bates had 13 kills to lead No. 11 George Mason to a 3-0 win over East Stroudsburg University in an EIVA Tait match on Sunday at Hempfield High School.

Senior Jesse Landis, who played his high school volleyball at nearby Central York, and sophomore Chris Holden both had nine kills for the Warriors.

George Mason sophomore Colton Naill, also a graduate of Central York, had nine kills and hit .500 for the match to help the Patriots to a .392 attack percentage.

GMU hit .647 (12-1-17) for a 30-13 win in the first game, but the Warriors played much better in the final two games in close 30-24 and 30-27 losses against the 11th-ranked team in Division I.

Junior libero R.J. Roth contributed eight digs for ESU and also had four assists. Freshman Josh Hobson (12 assists) and senior John Post (11) shared time at setter for the Warriors.

ESU will host NYIT in a non-conference match on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and will be on the road at George Mason next Saturday.
