EAST STROUDSBURG - Ty Zurn, a 2004 graduate of East Stroudsburg University and a member of the men's volleyball program, passed away on Tuesday, July 8 at his home in Mechanicsburg, Pa. He was 27 years old.
Zurn graduated from Tunkhannock High School in 2000 and was a four-year letterwinner for the Warriors. After graduating from ESU, he was a graduate student and graduate assistant at Millersville University.
Born May 29, 1981 in Susquehanna, Pa., he was a son of Ellen (Benson) Holdredge and the late Kirk L. Zurn.
Survivors include mother and step-father, Ellen and Judson Holdredge, of Kingsley, Pa.; brother and sister-in-law, Adam and Maribeth Zurn, of Millersville, Pa.; maternal grandparents, Robert and Joan Benson, of Jackson, Pa.; aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Zurn, Holdredge and Benson families.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Della and Ernest Zurn; and grandparents, Ernest and Miriam Holdredge.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home Inc., Montrose, Pa.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
