EAST STROUDSBURG - Leonardo Paludo and Eduardo Welter combined for 32 kills as NJIT beat East Stroudsburg University 30-22, 30-23, 30-23 in the Warriors' EIVA Tait Division opener on Tuesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Paludo (18 kills) and Welter (14) helped the Highlanders to a .388 attack percentage for the match, and Adam Nonnemann had 43 assists. NJIT also had 29 digs, led by Welter with seven.

For ESU, Chris Holden had eight kills and a match-high nine digs, and also contributed three blocks. Jesse Landis also recorded eight kills for the Warriors.

Freshman setter Josh Hobson directed most of the attack and finished with 26 assists.

ESU will return to conference action on Saturday when it hosts Princeton at 3 p.m. as part of a men's volleyball/men's basketball doubleheader at Koehler Fieldhouse.
