Dustin Wood is in his fourth season as the head men's volleyball coach at East Stroudsburg University in 2009 after serving two seasons as an assistant coach for the Warriors' program.
Wood took over the program in 2006 and led the Warriors to the EIVA Hay Division title in his first year. ESU finished the season 16-8 overall and 10-2 in the Hay Division to earn a promotion to the Tait Division, the highest level of competition in the EIVA, for the 2007 campaign. ESU was 11-13 overall and 4-8 in the Tait Division in its second season under Wood, and its first in the conference's top division since 1999.
Wood was an assistant coach for both the men's and women's volleyball programs for two season before being named the men's head coach.
Wood graduated from ESU in 2003 and was a three-year starter at outside hitter. Splitting his playing time between outside hitter and setter, he led the 2002 squad with 273 kills and recorded 224 kills in 2001. Wood transferred to ESU from Ohio State, where he redshirted during the 1999 season.
A native of East Petersburg, Pa., Wood was a first team All-State selection as an outside hitter at Hempfield High School. He also earned All-District and All-League first team honors while playing on three state championship squads.
He earned his degree in elementary education and teaches in the East Stroudsburg South school district.
