Pomona, Ca. -- Dan Gale fired a career best throw of 207-4 to earn sixth place in the men's javelin to highlight the East Stroudsburg effort at the NCAA Division II track & field nationals in Pomona, California. Gale's sixth place finish earned him All-American status to make the fifth-straight year the Warriors have had an All-American men's javelin thrower.

Gale, a junior from Millville, NJ, improved upon his personal best by over a foot. His 207-4 throw to finish sixth better his previous best set two weeks ago at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships of 206-0.

Gale was joined by both Barry Krammes and Vanessa Andes at the track & field nationals. Krammes favored to earn All-American honors in the javelin himself heading into the nationals had a tough day throwing. The senior from Pottsville had his best throw of the day of 200-3 for 11th.

Andes competed in the two distance events over Thursday and Friday nights. The sophomore from Ephrata, Pa. could not equal her success from the PSAC meet which she won by almost two minutes as she went across the finish line in 36:32.01 for 11th in the 10,000 meters. Andes finished 15th late Friday night in the 5,000 meters in 18:21.66 to round out her first appearance at the national meet.
