EAST STROUDSBURG - Day two of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference indoor track and field championships presented another exciting event with more East Stroudsburg accomplishments. Overall, the ESU men placed third with 83 points and the women placed fourth with 72 points.
This marks the most points ever recorded by an ESU men's team as well as the first time since 1985 that the Warriors have been in the top three.
Leslie Martin was named the Women's Field MVP by collecting a pair of second place finishes in the high jump (1.71m) and long jump (5.41m), first in the pentathlon (3594 points), and being a part of the second place 4x400m team.
Also in the field, Amanda Sines picked up a first place finish in the shot put (12.92m).
On the men's side, Iuri Pinto claimed the mile title with a time of 4:12.95, indicating the first time in ESU's program history that a male won an individual event. Pinto's time was also a national qualifier.
