EAST STROUDSBURG - Freshman high jumper Devyn Emerich has been named East Stroudsburg University's ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week for her performance at the John Covert Classic at Lehigh on Saturday.

Emerich (Bernville/Tulpehocken) was second in her event with a height of 5-7 to record an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark for the Warriors.

The mark is tied for the second-best in the PSAC this season with four weeks to go until the conference's indoor track and field championships, which will be held at ESU's Koehler Fieldhouse on Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1.

Emerich was the PSAC women's indoor field athlete of the week two weeks ago after winning the high jump at the Kutztown Invitational. She jumped 5-2 1/2 in her first collegiate meet at Lafayette in December and has cleared 5-5, 5-6 and now 5-7 in the last three weeks.

ABC Trophy, Inc. awards an athlete of the week to an outstanding student-athlete each week at ESU. Each recipient is presented with a red and silver plaque.
