EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior sprinter Andrew McCloskey has been named the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week at East Stroudsburg University after setting the school record in the 200m dash on Saturday at the PSAC East Challenge at Millersville.

McCloskey (Glen Mills/Penncrest) broke his own record in the 200, crossing the line in 21.48 seconds, and won the 100 and 200 at the same meet for the second time in three weeks. His 200 time was also an NCAA Division II provisional qualifier and is the fastest in the PSAC this year, while his time of 10.75 seconds in the 100 is the second-best in the conference to date.

McCloskey has been named the PSAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week twice this year, first during the indoor season and most recently two weeks ago after winning the 100-200 double at the season-opening Lynchburg Invitational at Liberty University in Virginia.

The junior was third in the PSAC in both the 55m dash and 200m at this year's indoor championships which were held at Koehler Fieldhouse. He was second in the 200 and fifth in the 100 at the outdoor championships as a sophomore.

The Warriors will send athletes to Bucknell for the Bison Invitational and West Chester for the West Chester Invitational on Saturday as they continue to progress towards the PSAC Championships on May 7-9 at Millersville.
