EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University captured two more PSAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards on Tuesday, as the conference honored senior Iuri Pinto and sophomore Trina Carito for their performances at the Warriors' All-American Meet at Eiler-Martin Stadium last weekend.

Pinto (Plainsboro, N.J./South River) set the school record in the mile with a time of 4:10.05 and reached the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard in the 1500m run. Pinto placed 10th in the mile at the indoor championships in March and competed in the outdoor championship last spring in Charlotte, N.C.

Carito (Greenfield Township/Lakeland) set the Eiler-Martin Stadium record in the triple jump with a distance of 37-6 3/4 to establish the top mark in the conference this season. She also placed second in the high jump to teammate Lynn Mayer with a height of 5-4 1/4. Carito won the PSAC indoor triple jump championship with a mark of 37-5 3/4 last month at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Pinto and Carito join Matt Gallup, Drew Miller, Andrew McCloskey and Paul Wagner as Warriors who have earned conference recognition through the first five weeks of the outdoor season. Carito was also honored in the first installment of weekly awards on March 25.

ESU will send a contingent of athletes to the Penn Relays this weekend in Philadelphia, with the rest of the squad traveling to Bethlehem for the Lehigh Games on Saturday.
