Al McCormick is in his sixth season as the head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs at his alma mater.

McCormick, a 1977 graduate of East Stroudsburg University, has focused on bringing stability back to the tennis programs and restoring the great tennis tradition. He is a two-time recipient of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. He was named the women's top coach last spring, and was honored by his coaching peers on the men's side following his first year in 2004.

McCormick led ESU to three PSAC titles in 1975, 1976 and 1977 as a top flight tennis player for the Warriors. He won a PSAC individual singles title and played on two conference-winning doubles teams.

After graduating in 1977, McCormick coached the Warriors for one year when long-time coach Dr. Charles Wolbers took a medical leave. He continued his coaching career with the Stroudsburg High School football team for 23 years, the last six as head freshman coach.
