EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University soccer player Roy Thompson (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica/Munro College) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week, the league announced.

Thompson totaled 10 points as the Warriors began the season 4-0. Thompson has scored goals in three of those games, each a game-winning tally. He scored in ESU's upset of No. 9 Franklin Pierce and had an assist in the win over No. 7 Southern Connecticut State.

Thompson, a senior midfielder, also scored twice in a 4-1 win over Kutztown in the PSAC opener for the Warriors.

ESU, ranked No. 9 in the latest NSCAA/adidas poll, will host Millersville Wednesday at 4 p.m. in its home-opener at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
