EAST STROUDSBURG - On Thursday afternoon the Major Indoor Soccer League held its annual draft. Three rounds in, East Stroudsburg University senior Ryan Love (Dallas/Dallas) was selected by the Milwaukee Wave.
The Milwaukee Wave is part of the MISL located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They are currently third in the league with teams from around the nation. The Wave is a four-time league champion that has been in operation every season since 1984-85, making the playoffs every year since 1992-93.
In his final season with the Warriors, Love anchored a defense that allowed just 13 goals as the Warriors went 17-2-3, claiming the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship. Love also scored six goals and had four assists while converting all three of his penalty kicks. His accolades include Division II second team All-America, All-Northeast first team and first team all PSAC.
This marks the 21st player to reach a semi professional or professional status under the direction of head coach Jerry Sheska.
Sheska stated "I am very excited and thrilled for Ryan. He has worked very hard over the past four years to put himself in this position. It truly is an honor for Ryan and for the ESU Men's Soccer Team."
