BLOOMSBURG – Tyler Phillips scored 2:36 into the second half to give Bloomsburg a 1-0 win over East Stroudsburg University on Wednesday night in PSAC East men’s soccer.

David Leiendecker made seven saves in goal for the Huskies (10-5-2, 5-2-1), who were outshot 10-7 in the contest. Senior goalkeeper Larry Pokrywa was credited with one save for ESU (9-8-1, 2-4-1).

Phillips scored the game’s only goal on an assist from Michael McGee early in the second half. A shot by sophomore midfielder Greg Schook hit the post later in the half, but the Warriors were unable to produce the tying goal.

ESU finishes the 2009 season at home against West Chester on Saturday at 5 p.m.
