EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University sophomore back Danny Drago has been named to the Daktronics Division II Men's Soccer All-America second team.

Drago (Stroudsburg/Notre Dame) is just the second ESU sophomore to earn All-America honors under veteran head coach Jerry Sheska, joining three-time All-American forward Mike Feniger (1994-96).

Drago helped the Warriors to a 19-3-1 record, their second straight PSAC championship and the No. 1 seed in the Northeast Region heading into the NCAA Tournament.

He scored six goals, including three game-winning goals, and added three assists and was a key member of the top defense in the conference. ESU allowed just 17 goals in 23 games, and only 11 goals in the 16 regular season PSAC games.

The Warriors won both of their PSAC tournament games 1-0 to claim the 19th men's soccer championship in school history. Drago scored the game-winning goal with 8:47 left in the semifinals against West Chester and helped ESU outlast Lock Haven in double overtime in the finals.

Drago is also a member of the Academic All-District team after posting a 3.67 grade-point average in his first year at ESU.

He was one of five ESU players to earn a spot on the Northeast Region team, along with senior back Copeland Lewis, junior forward Jason Shegda, junior midfielder Roshane Ellison, and sophomore goalkeeper Larry Pokrywa.
