EAST STROUDSBURG -- Quarterback Jimmy Terwilliger was the Offensive Player of the Year and four other players earned first-team honors as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference released its all-conference teams. Voting is done by the league coaches.
Terwilliger was also the first-team quarterback and joined tackle Michael Habel, wide receiver Evan Prall, defensive lineman Greg Thoman and linebacker Jayson Frank on the first team. Prall was also chosen as the first-team return specialist. Defensive lineman Andrew Marsteller, linebacker Dave Pacchioni and tailback Matt Brunetti were named to the second team.
Terwilliger earned his third Offensive Player of the Year honor from the conference by throwing for 2,966 yards. He threw 35 touchdowns and just seven interceptions and also rushed for a pair of scores. He holds numerous Division II records, including career passing yards (14,350), career yards of total offense (16,064), career games with a touchdown pass (47) and consecutive games with a touchdown pass (41). He tied the NCAA all divisions record with 148 career touchdown passes.
Prall had 76 catches for 1,174 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown, returned 20 punts for 357 yards and a pair of touchdowns and returned 14 kicks for 260 yards. He set the PSAC record for career receiving yards (4,093) and career touchdown receptions (50). It was the second consecutive year Prall was on the first team.
Habel, a junior left tackle, was picked to the first team for the first time. He was a key part of an offense that averaged 412 yards per game, including 284 passing per game. The Warriors averaged 35 points per game.
Thoman, a graduate student, led the team 14.5 tackles for losses of 65 yards. He also had 72 tackles and 8.5 sacks. It was the third all-conference honor for Thoman, who was on the second team as a freshman and sophomore.
Frank, a junior transfer, led the team with 86 tackles, including 37 solo. He had 7.5 tackles for losses and an interception.
Brunetti, in his first season with the Warriors, rushed 117 times for 581 yards. He averaged five yards per carry and scored six touchdowns.
Marsteller, a two-time first-team selection, had 37 tackles, 9.5 tackles for losses and two sacks. Pacchioni, a sophomore outside linebacker, had 47 tackles, 26 solo tackles, five tackles for losses of 33 yards, four sacks, recovered a fumble and had one pass breakup.
ESU completed its season with an overall record of 7-4.
