EAST STROUDSBURG - Former East Stroudsburg University kicker Mark Brubaker has signed a contract the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe and will kick for the club this weekend.

Brubaker signed a rookie free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers following the 2006 NFL Draft and participated in mini camp with the defending Super Bowl champions.

Brubaker concluded his career at ESU with a stellar senior season in 2005. He was a four-time All-PSAC selection and a key part behind the Warriors' run to the NCAA Division II semifinals. He made 74-of-79 extra points to set an ESU record, and also tied a school record by converting nine chances in a 72-17 victory over Bentley to open the season.

Brubaker was 14-of-19 on field goals with a long of 48 yards. He kicked a 42-yard field goal with three seconds left to beat Edinboro in the second week of the season and then made a 24-yard field goal as time expired to send the Bloomsburg regular season game into overtime.

For his career, Brubaker was 39-of-58 on field goals and 170-of-189 on extra points. He scored 287 career points and holds school records in all three categories.
