EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University football coach Rob Mikulski has been named the Division II Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year by American Football Monthly and Samson Equipment.

American Football Monthly and Samson have awarded nine coaches of the year to coaches at all levels, including high school and NFL.

"The growth of strength and conditioning programs at all levels of college and high school has been phenomenal," said American Football Monthly's Managing Editor, Rex Lardner. "Coaches to a person believe that in order to be successful, a sound strength and conditioning program is essential for their school."

Mikulski recently completed his 19th year with the Warriors. ESU completed its season 11-3 after winning the NCAA Division II Northeast Region and advancing to the national semifinals for the first time. Mikulski is a certified strength and conditioning coach by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is a 1986 graduate of Penn State University where he earned two bachelor's degrees and was a member of the Nittany Lions' national championship team.

Other winners include Mike Clark of the Seattle Seahawks; Jeff Madden of the University of Texas; Russell Patterson of Division I-AA Appalachian State; Jay Locey of Division III Linfield College; Jim Hogan of NAIA Carroll College; Mickey Bell of Glendale Community College; and Larry Kellom of Clovis High School and Mike Duran of Harvard Westlake High School.
