EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University football players Jimmy Terwilliger, Evan Prall and Ken Parrish have been named to the 2005 Daktronics Division II All-America Football Team.
Terwilliger was the first-team quarterback while Prall and Parrish were named to the second team. Voting is done by coaches across the country. Terwilliger was a second-team selection last year while safety Matt Crispell was on the first-team last season.
Terwilliger, the Harlon Hill winner as the Division II Player of the Year, was the top vote-getter while Prall was chosen as a wide receiver and Parrish as the punter.
Terwilliger completed 262 of 424 passes this season for a school and conference record 4,571 yards and 50 touchdowns. This season, he set NCAA records for career 300-yard passing games (22), consecutive games with a touchdown pass (37), yards of career total offense (12,594), career games with 200 yards or more passing (35), season points by a quarterback (324) and career points by quarterback (744). Earlier this season, he became the seventh player in NCAA history to rush for 1,000 yards and pass for 10,000.
Terwilliger has also been named a second-team All-America by CollegeSportsReport.com and on the Associated Press Little All-America team.
Prall, a West Scranton graduate, set school records for receptions (88), yards (1,766) and touchdowns (23). He scored a touchdown in every game this season and has a streak of 15 straight games with a scoring reception, dating back to last year. He was second in NCAA Division II with 6.3 receptions per game and an average of 126.1 yards per game. For his career, he has 2,919 yards and 33 touchdowns. He was named a first-team Associated Press Little All-American and was third-team on the CollegeSportsReport.com All-America team. Richie Ross of Nebraska-Kearney and Brian Hynes of Winona State were the first-team wide outs.
Parrish, a senior, punted just 41 times this year, not enough to qualify to be among the NCAA leaders. He averaged 43 yards per kick with a long of 62 yards. He pinned 10 of those kicks inside the opponents' 20-yard line. Jeff Williams of Adams State was the first-team punter.
