EAST STROUDSBURG - The East Stroudsburg University football team is ranked 11th and quarterback Jimmy Terwilliger and wide receiver Evan Prall were named preseason All-Americans, according to d2football.com.
Grand Valley State, the defending national champion, is ranked No. 1 in the poll, followed by Saginaw Valley, Northwest Missouri State, North Alabama and Bloomsburg. Voting is done by a media panel.
Terwilliger, who won the Harlon Hill as the Division II Player of the Year and Prall, who set ESU records for catches, yards and touchdowns in a season, were both chosen first-team preseason All-America.
The Warriors are coming off a record-setting 2005. They set a school record with 11 wins, won their first NCAA Northeast Regional title and advanced to the NCAA semifinals. Nine starters are returning from that team.
The Warriors will open their season Saturday, Sept. 2 against Bentley. Game time is 1:05 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
