EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University defensive back Michael Wiggins (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) and quarterback Jimmy Terwilliger (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg South) were named to the CollegeSportsReport.com Division II Preseason All-America team.

Wiggins, a 6-foot junior, was named to the first-team defense while Terwilliger, a 5-11 junior, was named to the fourth-team offense.

Wiggins made eight interceptions and 55 tackles last year in his first year as a starter and was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division second team. He is a health and physical education major and one of nine returning starters on defense.

Terwilliger is a two-time selection as the PSAC Eastern Division Offensive Player of the Year. He was also chosen as the first-team quarterback on Street & Smith's preseason All-America Division II team. In two years as a starter, he has thrown for 6,913 yards 63 touchdowns. He is a health and physical education major and one of 10 returning starters on offense.

Ninety-nine players from 68 schools were chosen for the team. North Dakota and Edinboro each had four selections while Abilene Christian, Adams State, Nebraska-Omaha, Pittsburgh State and Winona State had three selections. East Stroudsburg was among the 15 universities with two selections.

East Stroudsburg opens its season Friday, August 26th at 7 p.m. in Waltham, Mass., against Bentley.
