EAST STROUDSBURG - All-American punter Nick Krut is the final ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week of 2008 at East Stroudsburg University after becoming the fifth player in school history to earn multiple first team All-America honors in the same season.

Krut (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) was a first team selection by the Associated Press and Daktronics, which is voted on by Division II sports information directors, after leading the nation with a 46.0-yard punting average in 2008.

He joins defensive back Matt Crispell (2004), linebacker Kevin Nagle (2000), defensive back Curtis Bunch (1991) and linebacker Mike Reichenbach (1983) as the only other Warriors to be named to two All-America first teams.

Krut will participate in the 2009 Valero Cactus Bowl, the Division II senior all-star game, on Friday, Jan. 9 at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Cornerback Lionel Mitchell was also selected to represent ESU in the game.

ABC Trophy, Inc. awards an athlete of the week to an outstanding student-athlete each week at ESU. Each recipient is presented with a red and silver plaque.
