EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University wide receiver Sam Shuman (Lancaster/Hempfield) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II second team, it was announced Thursday.

Shuman, a redshirt sophomore, is a Pharmacy major and has carried a 3.48 grade-point average through his first two years at ESU. He was the Warriors' leading receiver with 36 catches for 534 yards and scored four touchdowns in 2007.

Shuman will enter his junior season with 1,006 yards receiving after catching six passes for 106 yards in the final game of the year last Saturday at Kutztown.

He is one of seven PSAC student-athletes named to the Academic All-District team, joining Anthony Cellitti (IUP), Kyle Witucki (Edinboro), Mike Butterworth and Clint Forsha (Slippery Rock), Tom Cressman (Kutztown) and Tyler Downes (West Chester).
