EAST STROUDSBURG - Four East Stroudsburg University football players have been named to the Football Gazette All-Northeast Region team.
Linebacker Jayson Frank, offensive tackle Mike Habel, kicker Greg Knauss and punter Nick Krut, all first team All-PSAC East selections, are members of the All-Northeast Region third team.
Frank (Greenbrook, N.J./Watchung Hills) finished his senior year as the second-leading tackler in the PSAC with 10.3 per game (93 total tackles), and led ESU with four sacks and two interceptions. He was the Warriors' leading tackler and a first team all-conference selection in both of his seasons at ESU.
Habel (Brookhaven/Sun Valley) was a four-year starter for the Warriors and ended his career with 43 starts, including 31 starts at left tackle over the last three seasons. He was also a two-time first team All-PSAC East selection.
Knauss (Allentown/Parkland) and Krut (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) will both return as the kicking specialists for the Warriors in 2008.
Knauss ranked second in Division II with 1.4 field goals per game and set school records with five field goals in a game at West Chester, and a 53-yard field goal against IUP.
Krut was second in the PSAC with a 40.7-yard punting average and had 15 punts inside the 20 in 2007.
