EAST STROUDSBURG - The East Stroudsburg University men's and women's cross country teams both finished first at the Nevins Invitational on Saturday morning.
ESU alum Drew Nesbitt won the men's race in 16:07, with freshman Doug Weeks placing fifth as the top finisher among current ESU athletes.
Nesbitt led an ESU alumni team that included Pat Carr (2nd), Mike Loenser (4th), Jon Holland (7th) and Kyle Weir (12th).
Weeks and fellow freshman Jim Norley led the Warriors men. Weeks was fifth in 16:59 and Norley finished eighth. Dan Bowden, Evan Daney and Mitch Slater were ninth, 10th and 11th for ESU.
Seniors Amber Horn and Lori Johanson were first and second in the women's race. Horn's winning time was 19:46, while Johanson finished in 20:03. ESU alum Jess Chong was third, with current athletes Rachel Ostroski (4th), Clarissa Cooblall (5th) and Leanne Pelak (11th) also placing for the Warriors.
ESU will travel to Kutztown next weekend for the 2007 PSAC Cross Country Championships.
