EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior forward Chris Bach has been named the PSAC East Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 24.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in a pair of wins for East Stroudsburg University last week.

Bach (Levittown/Harry S Truman) scored 21 of his career-high 28 points in the second half of the Warriors' 76-53 win at Bloomsburg on Wednesday, and had 21 points as ESU beat Millersville 73-70 on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.

He pulled down nine rebounds in both games and shot 70 percent from the field for the week, going 10-of-15 at Bloomsburg and 9-of-12 against the Marauders. He also added four blocks, three assists and three steals.

Bach leads ESU in scoring (15.8 ppg) and rebounding (8.4 rpg) in PSAC East games this season. He also ranks in the top 10 in the conference with 1.6 blocks per game.

The Warriors' captain scored a game-high 16 points on his 30th birthday on Feb. 16 when ESU won 58-53 at West Chester to break a five-game conference losing streak, and has led the team in scoring in each of the last three games, all victories.

Bach, a Sport Management major with a 3.81 GPA, has also been honored twice for his academic work this season. He earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine All-District II team, and was recognized with the Academic Momentum Award from the National Consortium for Academics and Sports.

ESU hosts Mansfield in its home finale on Wednesday with a PSAC playoff berth on the line. The Warriors (17-8 overall) enter with a 5-5 conference record, while Mansfield (16-9) is one game back at 4-6.
