EAST STROUDSBURG - The Warriors baseball program held its inaugural fall "Family Day" scrimmage on Sunday at Mitterling Field.

More than 150 family and friends gathered to watch a full squad scrimmage on Family Weekend at ESU and Team B came away with a 7-4 win over Team A.

Senior Kevin Thompson, juniors Brendan O'Malley and Kenny Serfass and freshman Ryan Guarino all contributed two hits for the winners. Seniors Chad Schlegel and Chris Zsenak both collected a pair of hits for Team A, and Mark Angelo had a long double to the hill in right field and drove in two runs on the day.

The pitching staff, expected to be a strength in 2009, received impressive outings from returners Tom Admire, Jason Colletti, Jeremy Gigliotti, Steve Prazenka, and Christian Saveri. Freshmen Kyle Evans and Paul Glenn also threw the ball well in their first action.

The Warriors will continue fall practice with a number of scrimmages over the next four weeks as they prepare for the 2009 season.
