EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior centerfielder Mike Bortz is the PSAC East Player of the Week after hitting .476 with three home runs for the East Stroudsburg University baseball program in six games last week.

Bortz (Wind Gap/Pen Argyl) was 10-of-21 at the plate with three homers, three doubles, 10 runs batted in and 11 runs scored as the Warriors split a doubleheader at Lock Haven and a four-game series with Bloomsburg.

He homered in both games at Lock Haven and went 3-for-6 with five RBI and four runs scored against the Bald Eagles. He was 7-for-15 with a home run and two doubles over the weekend against Bloomsburg and also drew a walk and had a pair of stolen bases.

Bortz is tied for third in school history with seven home runs despite missing 12 games due to injury. He has a .337 batting average, is tied for the team lead with 25 RBI and 23 runs, and is second on the squad with 10 stolen bases.

The Warriors will take on Kutztown in this weekend's PSAC East series when they host the Golden Bears on Friday at 1 p.m. at Mitterling Field.
