EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University will host five home athletic events on Saturday culminating with the Warriors’ football home opener with Clarion at 7 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
The weekend kicks off with the ESU women’s volleyball tournament on Friday night and Saturday morning at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Warriors will play four matches, at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Eiler-Martin Stadium will host a tripleheader on Saturday, the first-ever since the stadium had lights installed two years ago and FieldTurf installed last summer. The men’s soccer team opens the day at noon against Salem International followed by the women’s team against PSAC East rival Kutztown at 2 p.m. The field hockey team will also host Kutztown at 1 p.m. across campus at Whitenight Field.
The football team will close the day with its only home game in the first six weeks of the year. The Warriors traveled more than 1,400 miles with trips to Richmond and Erie the last two weeks and have won 12 of their last 14 games dating to the end of the 2007 season.
Moe’s Southwest Grill, one of the preferred restaurants of ESU athletics and the presenting sponsor for Saturday night’s game, is offering all fans in attendance a chance to win free burritos for a year (one burrito per week) at their location on Route 611 in Stroudsburg. The game tickets will also feature a coupon for a free 20-ounce soft drink at its location opening soon in Stroudsburg.
Ticket prices for the football game are $10 for general admission, $15 for chairback seating and $5 for children under 12 and seniors 65 and over. Tickets for the women’s volleyball, soccer and field hockey games are $6 for adults and $3 for children and seniors.
