EAST STROUDSBURG - Ashley Kocis and Jimmy Terwilliger, both honored as the top player in Division II in their respective sports during their careers at East Stroudsburg University, received the Male and Female Senior Athletes of the Year at the ESU Athletic Awards Banquet on Sunday, May 6 at the Shawnee Inn.

Terwilliger was the recipient of the Harlon Hill Award as the most outstanding football player in Division II as a junior in 2005, while Kocis earned the Honda Broderick Award for field hockey in 2006.

Terwilliger set 12 NCAA records and 15 ESU records during his career, including tying the NCAA all-division record with 148 career touchdown passes. He holds Division II career records for passing yards (14,350), total offense (16,064) and passing touchdowns, and was a three-time finalist for the Harlon Hill Award, placing fourth in 2006 and fifth in 2004 and winning the award in 2005. Terwilliger was named to All-America teams by the Associated Press, Football Gazette and D2football.com following his senior year.

Kocis led the nation with 29 goals and 59 points in 2006 to earn the Honda Broderick Award. She was a first team All-America selection and was the first ESU player to be named the MVP of the PSAC. Kocis also set the school record with 56 career goals after shattering the single-season mark.

The Alumni Association Scholar-Athlete Awards went to Jess Chong (cross country, swimming and track and field) and Adam Holdredge (men's volleyball).

Chong was one of ESU's top cross country runners and an NCAA qualifier in the javelin, and was also a two-year letterwinner for the swimming team. She will graduate with a 3.9 QPA in Health and Physical Education.

Holdredge was an All-EIVA Divison I Academic Team performer as a junior and a senior and a four-year starter for the Warriors. He finished his senior year ranked third in the EIVA Tait Divison and 10th in the nation with 12.31 assists per game. Holdredge has a 3.97 QPA in Health and Physical Education.

The David Carlyon Award for athletic training went to Evan Leibelsperger and Tara Temple, and the third annual John Pooley Sportsmanship Award was presented Sgt.
