EAST STROUDSBURG - Two-time All-Americans Sean Stewart and Kelly Wagner were selected as the Senior Athletes of the Year at the annual East Stroudsburg University Athletic Awards Banquet held Sunday evening.

Stewart and Wagner along with individual sport awards and senior recognition for 76 athletes, trainers and cheerleaders were honored.

Stewart (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) became only the fifth men's soccer player at ESU to gain All-America status on his way to being voted Senior Male Athlete of the Year. The back guided the Warriors to four straight PSAC titles and trips to the NCAA Division II playoffs including a final four in 2000 and elite appearance last year.

His anchor on the defense allowed ESU to allow only 0.88 goals per game as the team finished 17-2-2 and a No. 7 national ranking.

Wagner (Elizabethtown, Pa.) earned All-America honors as a four-year starter as goalie for the field hockey team as well as gaining All-PSAC selection in women's lacrosse. The Warriors field hockey team has excelled the past two seasons with Wagner as the last line of defense.

ESU was an NCAA Division II national runner-up finish two years ago, the school's best finish, and won an ECAC title this year. Wagner received All-PSAC honors in women's lacrosse as well.

Mark Stinson (Wescosville/Emmaus) and Shannon McCracken (Collegeville/Methacton) were presented with the ESU Alumni Association Senior Scholar-Athlete awards.

Stinson carries a 3.86 GPA in Athletic Training/Sport Medicine while placing 11 times in the past two PSAC track and field championships. He finished second in the long jump at 23-8 last year outdoors and holds the school record at 500m in 1:06.10.

McCracken earned a 3.50 GPA in Health and Physical Education while playing midfielder for the field hockey squad. On the field, she was a two-time STX/NFHCA Division II All-American, was named to the first team in 2002, and earned two All-PSAC selections. She was chosen as the Most Outstanding Player of the ECAC Division II championship and finished her career with 12 goals and 19 assists.
