The sixth-annual Perryman-Keglovits All-Star Basketball Games will be held on Monday, March 24 at East Stroudsburg University.
Proceeds will go to the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center, Jimmy V Foundation (cancer research) as well as game uniforms, printing and mailing.
Each year we honor two great basketball Monroe County legends that have since passed on: Arthur Perryman and Al Keglovits. We annually conduct two all-star post season basketball games featuring senior male and female high school basketball players showcasing them in an all-star setting to be seen by college coaches, parents and community members.
Arthur "Artie" Perryman, died in 1995 of cancer at the tender age of 19. He was a local basketball player who scored over 1700 points. Arthur captured both local and statewide honors, but more importantly, he won the hearts of all he came in contact with both on and off the basketball hardwood. Arthur served as role model everywhere he went.
Al Keglovits died of cancer in 2001. Keglovits, a former teacher and basketball coach at East Stroudsburg South and assistant basketball coach at King's College and Lehigh University also was a respected member of the Monroe County Community and served as a role model and friend to all that knew him.
