PSAC Release

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University is eighth in the Dixon Trophy standings through the 2007 calendar year, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference office announced Monday.

ESU was seventh in the final 2006-07 Dixon Trophy standings, its highest finish since ranking fourth in the inaugural Dixon Trophy race in 1995-96.

The Warriors are third among PSAC East schools with 55.5 points. Bloomsburg leads the overall standings with 69 points, and West Chester ranks fifth with 58.5 points.

ESU ranks sixth on the men's side, led by another PSAC men's soccer championship for head coach Jerry Sheska's program. The soccer team also recorded the top finish for ESU's women's sports, which are ninth overall in the current standings.

For the final determination of the Dixon Trophy, each institution's best 12 finishes (six men's, six women's) are used in the calculations.
