EAST STROUDSBURG - Channon Easley and Jackie Yandrisevits represent East Stroudsburg University on the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Team for the 2007-08 season, it was announced on Tuesday at a luncheon in Bethlehem.

Easley (Philadelphia/Friends Central) and Yandrisevits (Wind Gap/Nazareth) are two of 13 student-athletes honored from area colleges, including Cedar Crest, Delaware Valley, DeSales, Kutztown, Moravian and Muhlenberg.

Both players were preseason All-PSAC East selections, surpassed the 1,000-point mark this season and lead their respective teams in scoring and rebounding.

Easley scored his 1,000th career point on Saturday and is averaging 14.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game this season. He is the 21st men's basketball player to score 1,000 career points at ESU and ranks sixth in rebounding (658) and second in blocked shots (186) in school history.

He scored at least 20 points four times during the Warriors' 13-game winning streak this season, including three 20-point, 10 rebound games. He set his career-high with 22 points in an 83-71 win at California which gave ESU its first season sweep of the PSAC West in school history.

Yandrisevits became the fifth ESU women's basketball player to score 1,000 points as a junior when she set her career-high with 35 points in an overtime win vs. Moravian on Jan. 9. She has three other 20-point games this season and leads the PSAC East with 15.5 points per game.

Yandrisevits also leads the Warriors with 6.4 rebounds per game, 33 steals and 17 blocks. She has led ESU in scoring in each of her first three seasons and was a member of the All-PSAC East second team as a freshman and the first team as a sophomore.

The Pete Nevins Player of the Year awards went to LeighAnn Burke (DeSales) and Dave Ben (Kutztown). Ben and ESU's Alyssa Antolick were the inaugural recipients of the award last season.

The award was renamed last winter to honor Nevins, ESU's Sports Information Director for 33 years, who helped found the Lehigh Valley College Basketball Media Organization in 1994-95 to recognize local student-athletes.
