EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University senior field hockey player Sarah Cordora has been named the first ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week for the 2007-08 school year.

Cordora (Swoyersville/Wyoming Valley West) recorded a goal and four assists to help the Warriors to a 2-1 record in their first three games.

The NCAA Division II leader in assists in 2006 (14 assists in 20 games), Cordora is off to a fast start in that category in 2007 as well. She assisted on two goals in a 3-1 win at Philadelphia University, and had a goal and an assist to lead ESU to a 2-1 victory over Merrimack.

Each week ABC Trophy, Inc., of Stroudsburg awards an ESU Athlete of the Week. The selection is announced Tuesday and each student receives a red and silver plaque.
