EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior Copeland Lewis has been named the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week after helping the ESU men's soccer team wrap up the No. 1 seed in this week's PSAC Tournament.

Lewis (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica/Munro College) led the Warriors to a pair of 1-0 wins last week. ESU (17-2-1, 14-2) secured the No. 1 seed with a double overtime win over West Chester on Wednesday, and finished the regular season with a win at Lock Haven on Saturday.

ESU will play West Chester in the PSAC semifinals on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium, and would host the championship game on Saturday at 1 p.m. with a victory over the Golden Rams.

Lewis has started all 20 games at sweeper and has started 55 games in his career at ESU. He was a first team All-PSAC selection last season while helping the Warriors to their 12th PSAC championship in the last 15 seasons.

This year, ESU is ranked No. 1 in the Northeast Region by the NCAA Men's Soccer Committee and is in contention to host the regional round of the tournament next weekend. The pairings and locations will be announced on Monday, November 5.
