EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior Lynda Hicks has been named the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week after scoring four goals in a 2-0 week for the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team.

Hicks (Saylorsburg/Pleasant Valley) recorded her first career hat trick in a 5-0 victory at Mansfield on Thursday, and added ESU's second goal in a 2-0 win at California on Saturday afternoon.

Hicks has a team-high eight goals this season and has helped the Warriors to a 7-4-1 record entering Wednesday's PSAC East match-up at Kutztown. She has scored a goal in five of the last seven matches, and ESU is 5-1-1 in that span.

Hicks led ESU with six goals as a freshman in 2003 and scored three goals in 2004 before missing most of the last two seasons due to injury. She has 17 goals in 45 career games.

Each week ABC Trophy, Inc., of Stroudsburg awards an ESU Athlete of the Week. The selection is announced Tuesday and each student receives a red and silver plaque.
