EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior wrestler Dave Williams is the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week at East Stroudsburg University after improving to 8-0 at 197 pounds with a pair of wins at Bloomsburg on Sunday.

Williams (Egg Harbor, N.J./Absegami) earned a 7-4 decision over Shawn Nowrey of Delaware State, and an 8-4 decision vs. Eric Shaw of Bloomsburg, as the Warriors finished their dual schedule last weekend.

Williams has a 10-5 record this season and a perfect 8-0 mark, including five pins, since moving to 197 pounds last month. He is a darkhorse to contend for a spot at nationals when ESU goes to Franklin & Marshall for the EIWA Championships on March 8-9.

Williams has led the Warriors in pins in each of the last two years, and 18 of his 32 career victories have come by fall.
