EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior women's basketball player Monika Fogelsanger is the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week for her work on the court and in the classroom during her career at East Stroudsburg University.

Fogelsanger (State College/State College) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II team last week and is averaging a career-high 9.5 points per game during her senior season.

A Psychology major with a 3.88 grade-point average, Fogelsanger has been a four-year starter for the Warriors and a member of two PSAC East regular season championship teams.

She has more than 700 points and 500 rebounds while playing in 95 games in her career at ESU. Fogelsanger has one of the top free throw percentages in school history at nearly 80 percent, and is in the top 10 in career blocked shots.

Fogelsanger is averaging 10.3 points and 9.0 rebounds in the last three games as the Warriors are looking for their third straight PSAC tournament appearance.

ESU holds the fourth and final playoff spot with a 3-3 record going into the second half of the conference schedule, beginning with a trip to Cheyney on Wednesday.
