FootballSenior running back Derek Lucas (Centre Hall/Penns Valley) rushed 28 times for a career-best 218 yards as the Warriors beat Southern Connecticut State, 55-33, Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. Lucas averaged eight yards per carry and helped ESU control the clock and post its second ever playoff win. For the season, Lucas has 162 carries for 848 yards and four touchdowns. The Warriors, 9-2, will play at Bloomsburg Saturday at noon in the second round of the playoffs. |
