- You are considered a transfer student if you currently attend or have previously attended any college, university, nursing school, or other post-secondary institution after graduating from high school regardless of the number of credits attempted, earned or the transferability of those credits.
- Transfer applicants should have completed at least 24 transferable credits prior to enrollment at ESU, and must have a minimum 2.0 re-calculated QPA to be considered for admission.
Transfer Admission Policy
- Transfer applicants who have completed 24 or more transferrable semester hour credits prior to enrollment and have a minimum 2.0 re-calculated Quality Point Average [QPA] will be admitted to the University. Certain Special Admission Programs have higher QPA requirements.
- Applicants with fewer than 24 transferable credits are considered lower division transfer students and may be considered on a space-available basis; the high school record and SAT/ACT scores will be reviewed to evaluate admission of lower division transfer students.
- First semester freshmen at other institutions are not encouraged to apply.

A completed transfer student application consists of:
- Application form [either paper or on-line ]
- $35.00 application fee
- Official transcript(s) from all post-secondary institution attended.
- Official high school transcript: required of all transfer students as proof of high school graduation.
Please Note:
- Official transcripts [college, high school, GED] must be mailed directly from the sending institution to the Office of Admission.
- Students who have transferable credits from a non-US institution, must have their credits evaluated by a professional credential evaluating service. You can download a WES Application at http://www.wes.org.
- Additionally, a high school transcript is required for all transfer students as proof of high school graduation. For those students who are considered lower division transfer students (less than 24 transferable credits), the high school transcript will be used for evaluation along with SAT-I or ACT scores. Submit, by mail, an official copy of your final high school transcript or GED.
- Students who have received a high school diploma based on results of the GED (Test of General Educational Development) must ensure that an official copy of the Results Certificate from the state of issue is submitted directly to the Office of Admission.
Transfer Application and Financial Aid Deadlines
Admission for Spring 2009 - November 15, 2008.
- (Applicant are encourage to apply between September 1 and November 1).

Admission for Fall 2009 - May 1, 2009.
