- Apply for admission to ESU if you have not already done so.
- Gather your 2005 tax forms.
- Complete the FAFSA after January 1, 2006. The FAFSA can be completed online www.fafsa.ed.gov
- or by obtaining a hard copy by contacting your high school guidance counselor or the ESU Financial Aid Office.
- If completing electronically, the FAFSA requires pin number(s) for student and/or parent. Pin numbers may be obtained at www.pin.ed.gov. You should request your pin at least three weeks before you plan on filing.
- List ESU's code [003320] so we receive the results.
- Apply as early as possible to meet the March 1, 2006, priority deadline.
- Read instructions.
- Print legibly in ink.
- Round to whole dollars
- If the answer to an item would be "none", "not applicable", or "unknown" fill in that item with a "0".
- Do not list the net value of a farm if it is the principal place of residence and you or your parents claimed on Schedule F of your tax return that you/they participated in the farm's operation.
- Keep instructions.
- Keep photocopies of application and tax forms.
- Submit the completed FAFSA, along with the addressed postcard, to the processor in the envelope provided (if processing FAFSA electronically, mail signature page if requested with signatures to address specified).
- Do not send tax forms or other documents.
- You will receive a Student Aid Report.
- Make any necessary corrections on Part 2 of your Student Aid Report.
