Upward Bound is a pre–college program for high school students in grades 9 through 12. Students in the Upward Bound Program must possess academic abilities and a potential for completing a post secondary educational program. Upward Bound is part of a series of federally funded programs known as TRIO. Upward Bound was established in 1974–1975 at East Stroudsburg University.
Goal of Upward Bound
Upward Bound GroupThe goal of East Stroudsburg University's Upward Bound Project is to assist in developing the skills and motivation for success in education beyond high school. ESU's Upward Bound program will assist the high school student in enhancing his/hers academic skills, motivation, and confidence which will enable them to not only graduate from high school and enroll in college, but to graduate from college and meet with success.
