Home Study courses are a means for the student to complete courses away from the campus. After enrolling in the course, the student must pick up the Home Study Packet from the department office at 428 Normal St. The packet will give complete directions on how to complete the course. The student will have to do the prescribed readings and assignments and submit work to be graded, either by e-mail or US Post. These courses are normally offered in the Presession, and the bulk of the summer is available for the completion of the course.

Because there are few of the external inducements of a classroom course, students should be prepared to do a lot of work on their own. Structured readings take the place of lectures. The department currently has 3 Home Study courses:
