After many decades of graduates the programs in the health department have distinguished alumni in many different fields.
Beldina Opiyo – a native of Kenya is a 2004 graduate of the Community Health Education major and a 2005 graduate of the Master in Public Health Degree. After graduating from ESU she worked as a health education specialist for the Sussex department of health, and is now program manager for AIDSnet. She also serves as executive director of a community-based organization providing services to AIDs orphans in her native Kenya.
Kristin Brown – was the first graduate of the health services administration degree. Immediately following the completion of her degree she began working for the Children and Family services of Monroe County, as community resource program director. She is currently completing a degree in public Administration.
Peter Costa – graduated from the MPH program in 2003, and served as coordinator of the public health preparedness program for the City of Bethlehem Health Bureau. He now serves as coordinator of health assessment for the epidemiology division of the North Carolina Department of Health.
