  India, the world's largest democracy, is home to an ancient, rich and varied civilization. Hyderabad, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh, is the point where Northern and Southern Indian languages meet and where Hindu and Islamic civilizations mingle. Hyderabad's rich tradition in art/poetry, calligraphy, architecture, dance and music is an old regional strength. Modern urban Hyderabad's information technology base, enterprising financial institutions, and trend-setting youth cultures bring this vigor into a new landscape.

Academic Programs   Courses are offered in subjects including English Literature, Hindi, Telugu, Urdu, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Applied Linguistics, Translation Studies, Comparative Literature, History, Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, Painting, Sculpture, Dance, Theater, and Communication (which include Television Production), Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Sciences, Physics, Electronics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Plant and Animal Sciences. Interdisciplinary courses include Human Rights, Women's Studies, Folk Culture, Regional Studies, Indian Diaspora, Cognitive Sciences, Simulation and Modeling, Earth Sciences, High Energy Materials, Nanotechnology, etc.
Date   Academic Year: Last week of July - first week of May
  • Fall Semester: Last week of July - first week of December
  • Spring Semester: First week of January - first week of May
  • Summer Program: Mid-June - last week of July
Language   The medium of instruction at the University of Hyderabad is English. Courses on most Indian languages (basic, intermediate and advanced levels), especially in Hindi, Telugu, Urdu and Sanskrit, are available.
Housing   Students are housed on campus in single/double occupancy rooms with common bathrooms in every floor. ISEP-direct program includes a meal plan.
