India, the world's largest democracy, is home to an ancient, rich and varied civilization. Hyderabad, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh, is the point where Northern and Southern Indian languages meet and where Hindu and Islamic civilizations mingle. Hyderabad's rich tradition in art/poetry, calligraphy, architecture, dance and music is an old regional strength. Modern urban Hyderabad's information technology base, enterprising financial institutions, and trend-setting youth cultures bring this vigor into a new landscape. |
