Is this the Degree for You?
If you have an associate’s degree or equivalent college credits and an interest in making a difference in the health of your community, then this is the program for you. This degree completion program in Public Health provides the educational foundation necessary for careers in health services administration, delivery, and policy. This program offers students two concentrations in Community Health and Health Services Administration.
Your Prior Experience and Credits are Valuable
Credits you have already earned are easily transferred into the Health Services Degree. Academic advisors will work with you to prepare an individual transfer credit evaluation so you know exactly what you will need to finish your degree. We also value your work experience—advisors will determine how to apply what you already know to your degree.
Convenient Course Schedule and Location for Busy Adults:
This interdisciplinary program consists of coursework from Health Studies, Business Management, and Political Science. Courses are scheduled in five 8-week sessions throughout the year (with 2-week breaks between sessions) in order to help students with prior credits complete their degree within two years. Students will complete two courses (6 credits) per session, and classes will meet two evenings per week: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM and Saturdays, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at a convenient location in Center City Philadelphia. ESU is part of the PASSHE Multi-University Center, located on the Concourse/Lower Level of the Independence Mellon Building at 701 Market Street (on the corner of 8th & Market Street).
Where You Can Go from Here
ESU graduates go on to work in health care delivery settings (hospitals, clinics, home health agencies), in public health settings (county and state health departments and community–based organizations), in other allied health settings (nursing homes), and in the insurance segment (insurance companies and HMOs).
