Student Organizations

Each club has a faculty sponsor who helps guide activities.

These clubs serve an academic and social purpose, and engage in a wide variety of activities, including film screenings, tutoring programs, community outreach, translation services, international festivals, poetry recitals, and trips to cultural centers and events locally or in cities such as New York, Easton and Philadelphia.

All ESU students are welcome to participate in these club activities, and may do so by contacting the faculty sponsors or club's officers.

The Department of Modern Languages sponsors three different language clubs:

Spanish Club

The purpose of the Spanish Club is to provide the opportunity for members to speak Spanish and to increase their knowledge and awareness of the Spanish-speaking world and culture.

The Spanish Club is open to all students and provides many opportunities for language practice, entertainment, service and cultural activities in the community.

French Club

The ESU French Club encourages the practice of the French language via a number of activities at ESU and the wider community, including New York and Philadelphia. The club’s activities also aim to bring students into direct contact with French and Francophone cultures. Everyone is welcome to participate in any of the activities and events. Chinese Club

The purpose of the ESU Chinese Club is to extend student learning about the Chinese language and culture, and to gain and spread awareness about the country and its people. Various activities and events are planned and carried out each year.

The Chinese Club welcomes all to join. No prior knowledge of the language or culture is needed—only an interest in any aspect of China or Chinese!
