The Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management program is further enhanced through activities supported by the hospitality industry. Students participate in hotel and restaurant shows, tour hospitality facilities, listen to industry speakers, attend career fair days, and conduct special projects for the industry. The Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management program is accredited by the Accreditation Commision for Programs in Hospitality Admisnstration (ACPHA)
The Recreation Services Management degree program can prepare you for a variety of career paths. Faculty provide students with knowledge and skills needed for entry into the work force. Input from the program's Advisory Council, which is comprised of expert practitioners in the Pocono region, ensures that the changing needs in our contemporary work force are reflected in the program's curriculum. The Recreation Services Management program was established in 1978 and is accredited by the National Recreation & Park Association (NRPA).
Students are encouraged to join and participate in the Hotel and Restaurant Club, which is the largest and one of the most active student organizations on campus. All Hotel, Recreation, and Tourism Management Club provides an added opportunity for students interested in a career in Tourism. The department also hosts a chapter of Eta Sigma Delta, the international scholastic honorary society for hospitality students and the Rho Phi Lambda national honorary society for Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services.
